Week of Italian Culture in Cuba

Artists of various art forms will meet in Havana from November 22 to 28 for the twelfth Week of Italian Culture in Cuba.

A large Italian delegation will travel to Cuba to participate in the campaign which will include music, film and visual arts as well as a variety of dishes, a novelty in this edition.

Marco Baccin, Italian Ambassador to Cuba, described the program as a testimony of the cultural attraction between the two countries.

He stated that the relations between Cuba and Italy are developing and that they intend to increase their cultural offer, show the Cuba people their contemporary reality and link more institutions to this initiative.

The program includes a concert by the Italian master Maurizio D Alessandro in the Minor Basilica of the Convent of St. Francis of Assisi, a tribute to Cesare Zavattini and his film legacy, and the presentation of tenor Dario Balzanelli.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, the embassy of Italy, the Office of the Historian and the National Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
